Lynne is 3rd generation gardener - on both sides of her family. She says cheerfully, "I think gardening chose me, rather than me choose it and thankfully I listened." Her extensive travels, experiences, challenges and personal anecdotes will make you laugh..... and long to be outdoors.

Having started her own gardening business in 1985, her father soon joined her, enabling them to offer a complete Landscaping and Design service. A little later her brother, Ian, (a qualified mechanic) joined them to complete the family team (and keep the machinery running). Sadly her father died in 1996 but the business continued and has taken some unexpected routes. In 2003 Lynne presented a Garden Makeover series for BBC Wales called Hot Plots with her brother leading the makeover team. Lynne went onto work for UK Style and co-presented a 15 part series of Gardening Angels with Mark Curry. She was also the designer for the series and confesses "making over 15 gardens in just 15 days was challenging to say the least."

As well as continuing to work on site regularly - "I still love the atmosphere, though I ache more these days", Lynne writes a weekly column for Wales's National Newspaper, The Western Mail. As the 'Inspirational Gardener' she aims to encourage people to get more involved with their garden and their surroundings in general. "The outdoors is the biggest playground of all", she says, "fresh air and physical activity is just the best tonic for the mind and the body. Nature can teach us so much about how to conduct other aspects of our lives too. We should take time to listen."

Lynne also writes regularly for The Abergavenny Chronicle and The Abergavenny and Valleys Focus as well as providing commissioned articles for other publications.

Her book, ‘Personali-Trees’ has been a huge success and is currently being developed for a second edition. Inviting the reader to choose their favourite tree, flower or shrub Lynne then provides a tongue-in-cheek analysis of your character based on your choice. "I have made friends and lost a few, as a result of my forecasts she laughs. Intrigued by people's personalities Lynne is also developing a formula for 'Horti-Scopes'; horoscopes influenced by Nature.

Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious and her Charity work reflects her love of life and physical challenges. She has raised over £20,000 by running marathons, wing walking, parachute jumping, horse-riding and a solo 4x4 expedition to Iceland to run the Reykjavik marathon. Her most recent fundraiser was to compile and feature in a calendar 'Diamonds and Daffodils' to celebrate Marie Curie's 60th Anniversary. This was a resounding success and sold copies all over the world including the Far East, Australia, Canada and Iceland.

Lynne continues to run a consultancy and design service and is well-known for her attention to detail and for understanding and interpreting the needs and vision of the Client. "More often the clues are in what they don't say," she says, "It's important to create a garden that the client can really enjoy, one that they want to be in."

She also has experience in many holistic disciplines which can be incorporated into a design, "its simply working with Nature and natural energy." She explains, "far from being 'New Age', I see it as a return to old fashioned values and intuition. Oh, and common sense - something that technology seems to have squeezed out of our lives ..."

It is the desire to highlight the importance of common-sense, integrity and happiness that initiated the development of some of the courses Lynne offers. "I believe strongly in personal accountability and that everyone has the right to feel good. People should be joining in life, not just sitting on the bench watching the game. There are all sorts of reasons many of us don't feel 'enough' - good enough, thin enough, pretty enough, rich enough, strong enough, brave enough, but we are! We all have something to contribute and the secret is in realising and accepting that....today!

I have been lucky enough to work with some brilliant, inspirational people and want to share what I've discovered. I don't have a medical back ground, all my learning has been from the School of Real Life. It's never too late to start creating the life you really want."

Lynne is also a Member of Mensa with an IQ of 158, has a full motorbike licence, is a keen fisherwoman and was voted Wales's Sexiest Outdoor Worker by readers of Wales on Sunday.
