Rachel Agnew’s TV presenting career started in 2009 at the ripe old age of 43, and with it Rachel has returned to her first love, that of a performer. Rachel spent 5 years as a comedienne in her early twenties as one half of the musical comedy duo Pep Talk. Pep Talk were ‘two big girls, with short spikey hair, wearing leggings and big shirts, singing (allegedly) amusing songs of our own writing’. Rachel loved the comedy world and had great fun but eventually decided to listen to her mother and get what was known in the trade as ‘a proper job’.
A short spell (well, 18 years), in a proper job in the music industry ensued, until life turned upside down. Having been made redundant in 2008, Rachel was working as a marketing consultant, and then in the summer of 2009 she applied for the Loose Women competition ‘Make Me A Loose Woman’. There were over 3,000 applicants, a public vote and eventually a delighted Rachel was crowned (actually it was a nylon sash) the winner.
Rachel proved such a hit on the show during the five prize programmes as a guest presenter, that she was given a contract from ITV and became a bona fide Loose Woman and she continues to be a guest presenter on the programme. It’s her good humour, honesty and natural ability in front of the camera that has made her a success.
Rachel is now pursuing other TV opportunities and will be guest presenting Five’s Live From Studio Five in March 2010. She is also enjoying life as a successful after dinner speaker and as a writer, with a fortnightly column in her local paper.

Oh yes, and Rachel’s also one of the most ubiquitous voices in the UK today. You can hear her in Boots, Lloyds, Barclays, M&S, Sainsbury’s and many more. Yes, Rachel is the voice of….’Cashier No.3 Please’….really!

Testimonials

‘The reason that I asked you to come and present yesterday was because I was looking for a fun, dynamic and inspirational end to the day and boy that is what I got. I have a feeling that the workshop yesterday will be remembered for your session alone by those who attended. You were fun, outgoing and simply a joy to watch and you left everyone who attended with golden nuggets of information about how to manage an audience. What made your session so much fun was not only the huge amount of energy and life that you brought to the presentation but the anecdotal stories and experiences that you talked about throughout. Thank you so much for agreeing to present at our workshop, you were a perfect end to a perfect day!!’

‘Rachel Agnew presented the awards at the Ealing Gazette and Thames Valley University Pride in Our People Awards 2010. She was a perfect choice for the event and was thoroughly professional throughout the whole evening and more than met our expectations for a celebrity awards presenter. Rachel has a great personality and was ease throughout the evening with prize winners and local dignitaries and certainly endeared herself to the audience.’

‘The Solihull School Parents’ Association holds an annual Ladies’ Supper for about three hundred ladies and each year the committee have to make a decision on who to invite as guest speaker. This year we got it spot on! Rachel’s friendly, down to earth, humorous approach had everyone captivated from the moment she began. It is the first time in many years that there was absolute silence throughout the speech.
The feedback has been extremely positive. People have commented on how inspiring her talk was because as Rachel explained she is just a ‘normal person’. Apparently at rugby training the following morning there was a feeling of empowerment amongst the mothers!
Her speech had moments of poignancy as well as honesty and humour. She definitely gave hope to those ladies who are going through a difficult time at the moment and cheer to those who aren’t! A wonderful evening – one that is still being talked about three weeks later. Rachel is a superb choice of speaker for a ladies function and I would recommend her whole heartedly.
