Kate has travelled extensively, including in 2009 to a remote region of Afghanistan. She has written for a number of publications including The Telegraph, The Times, The Independent, Travel Africa and Wanderlust and is co-author of the book ‘Springwatch and Autumnwatch’. She is also co-author of the book ‘Watching Waterbirds with Kate Humble’ that is due for release in April 2011. In 2004 she set up www.stuffyourrucksack.com, a website dedicated to helping travellers give support to the world’s poorest communities.
Kate’s television credits include ‘Rough Science’, ‘Springwatch’, ‘Autumnwatch’ and ‘Animal Park’, that she co-presents with Ben Fogle, to name but a few. 2009 saw Kate exploring her family history on the hugely popular ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’
She is a qualified commercial diver and in 2009 became the second woman ever to be appointed President of the RSPB. She lives in Wales with her husband Ludo, her dog Badger, a hive of bees and various other hoofed, furred and feathered livestock.
