Sophia competed in her first Paralympic Games at London 2012 and was unlucky not to win a medal finishing 4th in both the 100m and 200m. In 2011, Sophia won Silver and Bronze at the World Championships and in the process set a new European record. Sophia is now hoping to improve on those performances at the IPC Athletics World Championships 2013.

Sophia’s disability is Cerebral Palsy, a life-long condition that affects motor control. She is married with two young children and lives and trains in East Sussex but away from athletics Sophia has a successful career in marketing. Her career to date has involved positions at BT, Nestle, Palmer and Harvey, and recently Sophia has accepted a new role as the UK Athletics’ Commercial Director.

Sophia is a highly energetic and self-motivated individual who provides a unique skill set to potential sponsors. Her business background, coupled with her international athletic success, is a rare breed that people find inspiring.

Sophia is an experienced speaker and one who delivers her message in a positive and thought provoking way. Her enthusiasm and track record of success means she is a popular speaker at schools, clubs and companies, sharing her story with children, employees and business audiences.

Sophia is a sprinter and a European World Record holder in the 100m and 200m in the T35 category.
