In 2004 she had her first taste of gold in winning the coxless four race at the under 23 World Championships in Poland, from then on in she cemented her position in the Great Britain Olympic team resulting in a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and gold at London 2012.
In 2010 Anna forged a formidable partnership with Katherine Grainger in the double scull and to this day are undefeated as a pair. Anna and Katherine had a storming 2010, going undefeated and winning gold at the World Championships in New Zealand, a feat which they repeated the following year. Incredibly the pair have won gold in every World Cup regatta they have entered.
Away from the water Anna is a confident, well-spoken and multi-talented individual who is working towards a PhD in Mathematics. Anna is an accustomed public speaker, having spoken at establishments such as Cambridge and Reading Universities, Visa, Scottish Widows, The Sunday Times and many more.
She has also appeared on Newsnight, Women’s Hour and A Question of Sport.
