Today Tess is most well known from her flagship-presenting role on BBC 1’s most celebrated entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing with Bruce Forsyth. The show is now going into its 10th series in the UK and the format has been exported to 32 countries.
Before landing her role on Strictly Tess was on many other high profile shows such as: Channel 4’s fashion styling show Get Your Kit Off and The Big Breakfast MTV/Channel 5’s dating show Singled Out, BBC 1’s telethon Children in Need, and This Time Tomorrow, ITV 1’s BAFTA winning Saturday morning kids live entertainment and sketch show SMTV, BBC’s LA Based entertainment show LA Pool Party, Channel 5’s live reality show Back to Reality with Richard Bacon, Lottery game show This Time Tomorrow and BBC 1’s celebrity singing talent show Just the Two of Us with her husband Vernon Kay.
Alongside her successful presenting career, Tess has written two books, The Baby Diaries, a candid and humorous account of parenthood, which was in The Sunday Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and The Camera Never Lies, a novel about an up-and-coming presenter and the dramas that unfold behind the camera. She also writes a weekly style and beauty column in The Daily Mirror.
In addition to all of the above Tess is joint patron of Great Ormand Street Hospital, which is the world’s biggest Children’s hospital and Princes Trust Ambassador for the Prince of Wales.
Tess is already working on a sequel to The Camera Never Lies, which will be release by Hodder in April 2013.
Tess also has a beauty range, Tess Daly, which is re-launching in Debenhams in November. Her original beauty range has been exclusive to M&S for the last three years, and it achieved a massive 5.5m turnover and won 2 Rodial Beauty Awards.
